Bears Have Summer Success at UF Camp!
From July 25-27, 12 members of the PRHS Volleyball Program attended team camp at the University of Florida, and those twelve dominated, earning first place in the USA Division Team Competition. The Bears defeated teams from across the state of Florida: Bayshore Christian HS, Columbus HS, Wesleyan HS, and Up on Top Club. The only defeat over the course of the tournament on Saturday and Sunday came from Spruce Creek HS from Port Orange, yet the Bears came back to defeat Spruce Creek in the championship match. Coach Thomas, Coach Schroeder, and the camp coach of Caitlyn Jansen (the assistant coach of Berry College in Georgia) couldn't have been more pleased with the performance of the girls!
In addition to the team success, senior captain Kyra Hokanson was named USA Division MVP due to her aggressive hitting, precision serving, and dominating defense.
The UF Volleyball Camp (which is the team camp the Bears have attended for two years now) was a great experience. Check out team camp photos below!
